My group for two design projects, without Chui Fen and Thomas..
The picture was taken a year ago I think, to be sent to a high school in Jakarta: Indonesian students of NUS’ Faculty of Engineering ;)
Did we ever make it on the cover of  the school’s magazine? We never found out..

Saturday evening, I was telling my sister that I need new slippers and a haircut but I’ve no time to get them, and she offered me her new pair of slippers and a haircut service with the help of a bowl!
And I only took the slippers.

I guess a little stress is good to warm the engin in the brain (well if it’s still there..), and to get it started.

The timing couldn’t be better.
Three weeks to reading week, two more design projects, four tests, five assignments, two lab sessions = two lab reports, one proposal, heart-matters..

All the way my Savior leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

And time will heal, I’m sure.

I have a roommate

March 30, 2008

I saw a cockroach in my room on Friday night. I freaked out, I actually fogged my room with insecticide spray but it didn’t die and ran to hide somewhere in the room. Yup, so I’m living with a cockroach now, it can come out anytime, it can be anywhere in the room, but I can just not think about it because I don’t see it. Is this the way I deal with my problems? Hm..

So I’ve been such a disappointment lately, to people around me, my groupmates, friends, family, and.. to myself.

Headacheness

March 28, 2008

I had this kind of headache almost once (or twice?) a week during my JC time, and that was one reason why it was so hard to go through.  Thank God the ex-Panadol-addict now finds herself with no Panadol at all when the headache comes to visit. Maybe I should give myself more time to sleep, meaning reducing my already very little play time, so I won’t collapse anytime soon. Like Pat once said, NUS doesn’t allow you to get sick.. I can hardly cope even without getting sick.
Take care, everyone, take heart ♥

Where’s God on Monday?

March 24, 2008

prettyy.jpg

Indah,
Bunga-bunga mekar di padang..
Harum,
Semerbak baunya..
Merdu,
Suara burung-burung berkicau..
Syahdu,
Elunan angin sepoi..
Semuanya itu teman,
Menceritakan tentang Dia..
Allah yang maha agung dan besar kasihNya..

- lagu sekolah minggu jaman dahulu kala :)

[It's one of my Sunday school songs which still plays in my head once in a while. Basically it says how beautiful and fragrant the flowers blossom, how beautiful the birds sing, how breezy the winds blow, and they all tell the same story about how great our God is..]

Where’s God on Monday? He’s everywhere.

The pictures were taken by Hendrik, in Samosir Island, North Sumatra.
So prettyy!

Easter and eggs

March 23, 2008

eggs.jpg

What do eggs have to do with Easter?

Egg is a symbol of new life and rebirth. Jesus has risen..
“Why do you seek the living One among the dead?” - Luke 24:5

It’s a new life all over again. Because He lives.

Happy Easter :)

March 23, 2008

I went to church without my wallet today. I was late for church, and alone, when I realised that I didn’t have my wallet with me.. Thank God the bus driver was soo nice, he asked me if I wanted to stop at the next stop, or continued the trip. I said continued because I didn’t want to miss the Easter service. And as if taking bus for free didn’t make me feel bad enough, I fell asleep just two bus stops before my church! I remember telling myself not to sleep, and the next second I opened my eyes, I’ve already missed a few stops. So I had to walk back to church and was late for the service.

I left my wallet in my room when I went for Good Friday mass also. Yup, twice in three days.

This kind of thing, I just have to blog it. To remind myself to be more mindful.
But I haven’t lost a wallet or a handphone or a water bottle for quite some time ;)

Strawberry Sunday

March 23, 2008

..can I have one Strawberry Sundae and a Chocolate Mondae? -GY
I actually still find this line funny.

It’s Easter Sunday! I haven’t really done my Easter reflections.. because.. well, I have too many excuses..

I was very very very broke last week, and just as I was consulting my Financial Consultant aka Sister Number One, I actually had money falling down from the sky! I experienced (quoted from Sherly) someone said: “When you really dont have money at all, money will just fall down from the sky”. It happened to Sherly, and it happened to me. And Sherly says my sky is a certain waste company. Ah but the timing was so right, I was already on the brink of quitting school and finding a job to make a living..
Thanks to He who owns the sky.

We celebrated Pat’s birthday, again.. and again. The KTB celebrated it with some uninvited people on Wednesday, and The Old Friends (Sherly, Reren, Eunice and I) had our celebration on the Good Friday. Let us all wish Pat meaningful years ahead!
Oh and I got another belated (and accumulated) birthday presents. Eunice is too sweet!

I want to start reading books again. I’ve been so lazy to read, I have so many books piling up on my shelves.. including Pat’s which I bought for her last December but have yet to pass them to her. All the books left untouched and dusty, how wasted. I’m reading this book that Johni lent me some time back, Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster. I’ve yet to immerse myself in the book, but there’s a nice quote that I read this morning: Everybody thinks of changing humanity and nobody thinks of changing himself (Leo Tolstoy). Hmm.
